MiX Telematics provides Heartbeat Community Centre with much needed transport

Extending a helping hand to a worthy organisation

18th August 2015 – Today, MiX Telematics, a leading global provider of fleet and mobile asset management solutions, presented Heartbeat Centre for Community Development with a refurbished vehicle – resulting from their innovative Facebook consumer competition. The vehicle will assist the centre in achieving their daily operations and forming a key part of their commitment to the communities in which they operate.

Director of Product and Marketing at MiX Telematics Africa, Grant Fraser explains, “MiX Telematics is committed to giving back and improving the lives of individuals, as well as NGOs that are deserving of a ‘helping hand’. The Heartbeat Centre for Community Development is an organisation that is close to our hearts and one which we support on a consistent basis. The centre focuses on children’s empowerment programmes, education programmes and access to rights and material support.

“We’re very grateful to MiX Telematics for this wonderful gift. We have 14 centres across the country in 7 of the 9 provinces and this vehicle will be instrumental in helping us achieve our daily operations – enabling us to do more on a daily basis than we were able to do before. The car will be used should one of the kids need to be taken somewhere urgently, to travel between centres, as well as if staff members need a vehicle for work related activities. This keeps us going and makes us want to continue going the extra mile for those less fortunate. On behalf of Heartbeat’s board members and management team, I would like to thank MiX Telematics for their continued support towards ensuring the major success of our organisation. This kind hearted investment will aid us in our efforts to build leaders and communities for the future,” says Sibusiso Molimi, youth representative board member at Heartbeat.

“We like to approach CSI initiatives differently, by involving the greater community. With this initiative in particular, we were able to give the centre the much needed transportation for their daily operational needs while in turn, awarding the winner of our competition who sponsored her vehicle, a new car of her own. We wish both our recipients many happy miles in their new vehicle,” concludes Fraser.
